Suddenly Dian Paramita

I'm not a big fan of Dian Sastrowardojo. And I will never be. So, let us call this is coincidence. I found a picture of her in a Facebook page of GP Photography. And I truly like her smile. That's why now my desktop is like the picture here in this post. Could you imagine her smiling picture tiled on a 19 inch 1380x768 px monitor?

I named this post as suddenly Dian Paramita because actually I posted the similar picture yesterday on my Facebook. I also changed the background of my Tumblr page with the same picture.

FYI, I will never change my wallpaper until there is someone can beat her smile that making me want to smile everytime I see my desktop.

Today's Public Lecture

This note is made under the 'saung' in my school. I am sitting here by myself to keep Andre's laptop while he is going to Rumah Sakit Persahabatan to arrange the transfer for his father's treatment that had an accident last night. Why do I have to sit here? It's because the bad signal reception of my modem in the library.

So, what's this note about? I guess I want to write a note about today's public lecture that was held in my school's hall.

The public lecture is about church law. It was scheduled to be started at 9.00. In fact, the lecture was started at 9.30. It was a little late because the people that came to the lecture is still only a few. Eventually it was started with only about twenty participants. The lecture was opened with short foreword and introducing by Lazarus Purwanto.

The lecturer was brought by Prof. Leo J. Koffeman, a professor of church law and ecumenism. He brought his lecture by read all of the paper's content that was also given to each participants. It took about thirty minutes for the lecturer to read the whole paper.

Requirement for an Academic Approach of Church Law. It was the title of the paper. Koffeman gave a brief description about the position of church law in the churches and theological school. It's no wonder that the church law has a little amount of "peminat". (I'm the only one from the undergraduate program that was coming to the lecture.)

I'll go straight to the requirements needed, according Koffeman, so church law deserves a place at the theological faculty. The church law need to be critical in order to fight conservatism; ecumenical in order to fight confessional narrow-mindedness; missionary in order to fight introversion; contextual in order to fight uniformity; juridicial in order to fight legalism. That's the very short summary of Koffeman's paper.

I now will write down some questions and statements that raised by the participants:
Pak Kadarmanto:
conflicts often rooted by the lack of understanding of church law. So, we need more scholars in church law (?); Indonesia churches tend to be legalism; Koffeman's approaches enlightening.
Lia Wetangterah:
"why is there no biblical approach?"
Nurselli:
"saya termasuk orang yang frustrasi terhadap tata gereja"; gereja mencontoh hukum negara

Actually there's still another note that can be added here. Since it's already dark here under the "saung", this note will be added someday. (I guess it will never be added!)

Stupid Line

A stupid line came up to my mind yesterday at the Teologi Biblika class. It was a thought that appeared when I saw Aiko typing something on her laptop while doing a presentation in front of the class. It had something to do with the way I'm typing but then I made it as a line that had something to do with love.

"Kalau kau sampai memintaku untuk mengetik tidak dengan sepuluh jari, aku tidak akan dapat menyanggupinya!"

That was a note that I wrote on the paper I had on my chair. I showed it to Joice, who sat right next to me, actually just to show off. But then, suddenly I created another line as a conclusion (?).

"Kalau kau sampai memintaku untuk berhenti mencintaimu, aku pun tidak akan dapat menyanggupinya." Stupid line, isn't it?

I Don't Have Anything

I sort of thought that I don't have anything to be proud of. I know it's only a kind of stupid thinking. In fact, I have a lot of thing that is good enough that others might don't have.

The thought came to my mind right after I finished installing Windows 7 Ultimate on Ella's laptop. First of all, actually I don't have any more Windows installer. What a stupid guy I am, right? How could I say yes to Ella when she asked me to reinstall her laptop? I know it would not be a problem because I believed that I will get one. And I was right. Yesterday I borrowed Ryan's Windows XP SP3 CD after Ella handed me her laptop. Unfortunately, the installing process was not finished correctly. I don't know why.

I worked on Ella's laptop at the library this morning. Right after the installing process looked like never going to be finish, I decided to ask the other Windows XP SP3 installer to Mas Chandra. After consulting  a little bit about SATA harddisk, I finally decided to give a try to install WIndows 7 on Ella's laptop. Actually it just took less than a hour to finish the installation if I didn't have myself a break to canteen. And here I am, still working on Ella's laptop, typing this journal.

Some day in this month, on the day I was going to go to Lembur Pancawati, Bang Charles asked me to be a photographer and a cameraman at the same time on his father's birthday on February 21st. I already said that I didn't have any camera and/or handycam, but he said that he would get them for me to be used on the day. I couldn't reject the very polite (and flattering?) request. I said yes. Yesterday he said that I would use a digital camera, a film-based DSLR camera, and a tape-type handycam video recorder.

This morning I was shocked by an announcement. Tim Unit Penelitian Lapangan decided that I will do my Collegium Pastorale II at GKI Pondok Indah. Although it is still needed to be confirmed, I already thought that I don't have any capability to do my CP II there. And frankly, I really don't know what to feel about this one.

My final conclusion: I dont' have anything to be proud of, right?

Hard to Sleep

It's already more than 2 am in the morning. I still can sleep. It's already been days I can't sleep less than 2 in the morning. I'm not really sure what the cause is, but the sound of mosquitos flying near my ear is one of the cause.

It's hard to sleep even I already shut my eyes, hold the pillow, and try not to think anything. That's why I'm writing this journal right from the bed. I think after post this journal, it's better for me wasting my time for couple of hours in front of my computer.

Huaah... It doesn't work.

A Reason to Hate and an Apology

I deserved to be hated by them. But I don't have any reason to hate them back. They hate me may be a reason, but it is a stupid reason to hate them.

What's the reason they hate me? Maybe because something I did. I admit it. I did something wrong. That's why I have to say an apologize to them.

To anyone who may concern,
I know I've been made a mistake or made something wrong. I have no explanation about it. (You didn't ask for it.) I only can say this: I apologize for something wrong I've done.

"I have to be hurry.."

Yesterday, there was a briefing for the new students in my school. They gonna have some kind of "ospek" that named OSMABA (Orientasi Mahasiswa Baru or can be translated as New Student Orientation). The briefing was held for the explanation what the new student have to wear and bring and what tasks they have to accomplish for the OSMABA 14-18 August 2006.

I am one of the OSMABA committe members that placed as documentation guy. And this is a photo that was taken by me yesterday. I guess this is the best picture I got yesterday. Most of the other photos was hazy. It was because the digital camera that I used. I was not used to take picture with the camera --Canon Poweshot S40-- that was Timothy's.

I guess I have to learn a lot about camera because for the committe that I involved I always appointed in taking photos thing. The ASA thing, the Focus length, and the shutter speed maybe the things I have to learn besides the composition of taking photos.

I almost forgot to explain this photo. This is a photo of the MABAs or the new students when they were writing their OSMABA song written on the whiteboard to their notes. I took the photo from behind the whiteboard. In this picture the things looks like going normal. Actually, the MABA was in a hurry. One of the OSMABA committe was erased the song lines by lines. That's why I made this photo's title "I have to be hurry.."

The Da Vinci Code Seminar Report

The Da Vinci Code Seminar Report

There was a seminar about The Da Vinci Code last Saturday
(ini sudah salah. seminarnya hari Jumat). The seminar was held in our school’s hall. The seminar was started right about 9 am that morning. The seminar was opened by Bang Martin. Then Ms. Sylvana Ranti-Apituley was the one who spoke to explain why the seminar was held. She said that the seminar was held because the appearance of The Da Vinci Code movie. The novel has been distributed in Indonesia since 2 years ago, but she said that Indonesian reader seldom read that book because it’s thickness. So, the widespread of The Da Vinci Code and it’s controversy is easier and greater by the movie, even the one who has read the novel said that the movie is as good as it’s novel.

The moderator of the seminar was Mr.Trisno Sutanto. His face just looks like Mr.Rasid Rahman, our Liturgika lecturer. He then introduced the speakers of the seminar. They are Romo Mardi Atmaja, Rainy Hutabarat, and Dr.Ioanes Rakhmat. Romo Atmaja was appointed to represent the Catholics view, but Romo said that he didn’t want to represent the Catholics. He was just represents himself. Rainy Hutabarat represents the feminist view, and Dr.Ioanes Rakhmat represents the New Testament view.

In Romo’s view, TDVC is just a novel. It’s a belief, but it is not a faith expression. He also said that it doesn’t need to have an emotional reaction to TDVC, because the Catholics never respond TDVC seriously, but the Opus Dei. He also said if you want to take it seriously, it’s up to you.

In Hutabarat’s view, the novel TDVC was not written in the feminist view. The novel just tells about the sensitive thing in Christianity history and also the exclusion of the woman in the church history.

In Ioanes Rakhmat’s view, there is a lot of mistakes that Dan Brown, the author of TDVC, using the source. The mistake that the author made is about the interpretation of Gospel of Maria. The author also made mistake in the church history. Dan Brown said that Jesus was said as God was decided in a convention, but the truth is the faith stance about Jesus was established since the first century.

For me the seminar is a kind of enlighten for my mind. I’m not read the novel neither watch the movie yet. So, the seminar is useful for me if sometime I’ll read the book.

The seminar ends at about 12 o’clock.

Another Exhausted Day

Today is an exhausted day.

I wake up at 6. I remember that I have to do the other two journals for my Intensive English Course assignment. I think my friend is right when they often say that I am some genius or even crazy. I almost done all of my task or assignment especially relate with writing things just in the morning the task will be collected/submitted. This morning, I finish the two journals just in about an hour. Then I take a bath and go to the campus.

I print my journals and my friends' in PKM. Then in 8, we have the test. It's a little bit easy to do, but I don't really sure with my answer. But, finally I just have one mistake when the questions are answered by Miss Susanne. After the test over, I have breakfast. Soto mie ayam.
At 9, I attend the seminar that held in our school's hall. The seminar is about The Da Vinci Code. I get a lot of things from the seminar. For I have to make a report of the seminar, I guess I'll make the journal entry about the seminar later.

It is some minutes after 12 get into the class in level 3 of building A of our school. We have a test from Mr. Ferdy Suleeman. The test is about passive-active voice. FYI, from the previous test that had been made by Mr.Ferdy, I got the best grade. I just had a mistake in using an s in "generates" when the sentence is "will generate". For the same kind of test today, I didn't make any preparation. That's because I already have sufficient understanding about the passive-active voice.

I have my friend Hendrik sit beside me during the test. He has been in Canada for about 4 years, but I wonder why he doesn’t have much understanding about the grammar. He deliberately sits beside me to have me help him answers the question, or I can say he want to see my answers. I get out from the class faster then him. After the class, he says that his answers have been checked by Mr.Ferdy. He says that he have some mistakes in his answer. I think I will have the same mistakes as he does, but he says that he has another answer than I have. But for sure, I'm afraid that I will get a perfect score.

About 1 pm, I go home. But then I take my friend's bike. I go out. At first, I have no desire to have a long trip. But I decide to try doing something stupid. I finally make a long trip to Kuningan. From my "kontrakan", I go to Jalan Borobudur, then to Jalan Proklamasi where my school located, then to Jalan Diponegoro. I pass Pangeran Diponegoro statue and GPIB Paulus. I turn left in the traffic light between Jalan Diponegoro and Jalan Imam Bonjol to go to Jalan H.Rasuna Said. In Jalan H.Rasuna Said, I pass buildings. Sony Building, where my sister work as an apprentice, Setiabudi 21, MMC Hospital, Pasar Festival, and also Sentra Mulia Building, where two of my friends working there.

Something that I wonder is how to turn around the big road coz I want to back home from the same way I go there. That's why I finally decide to turn left after the Rasuna Residence. I think I will find some underpass road to go back to Jalan Rasuna Said with the opposite direction from where I come so I can go back home. After some kind of stupid effort, such as take the fastest way and pass the big road with the motorcycle rider sound his horn, I finally take my way back home.

The most exhausted effort to do is riding my bike climb the bridge between Four Seasons Hotel and izzi Pizza. The most annoying thing is the air pollution of Jakarta. I have to take deep breath with the air that has been polluted with vehicles' smoke. I also lost my energy for that one hour trip. I start the trip about on 1.23 pm and I have been in Hero Supermarket in Megaria on about 2.23 pm. I go to Hero to buy some drinking. I buy and drink 2 mizone and 1 vitazone. For sure, the drinking has made me feel not as exhausted as I feel when still riding the bike. But, I don't know whether that drinking that make me "masuk angin" and feel want to "muntah" after have lunch on about 4 pm.

Another exhausted day? Not really.

The Most Messing Room

You don’t have to see right into my room to know how my room is. It has been well-known by my friends as the most messing room. In the dormitory and even in the new rented-house.

In the dormitory, I have been known as the most messing person. The room I have is never cleaned. My room-mate even infected with the way I treat the room. Everything is on the bed, everything is on the floor, everything is on the desk, and everything is on the bookshelf. You can see papers, books, “struk-belanja”s, stationery, clothes, and even underwear just when you come into the room. It’s all over the room.

Now, in the rented-house, I live myself in my room. I don’t like to have a roommate. Do you know why? I can be freely messing up with my room. That’s why, after the moving thing from the dormitory until today, my room is never as neat as the other room or as neat as room has to be. It almost the worst room I ever see. Something is still in the boxes, the others have been on the floor, the clothes are in the bag and also on the floor, papers and little stuffs mess around the floor, and also still the underpants fill the sight in my room.

What a mess!

Hate the Girls

I already don’t like at least three girls in my class. I don’t like them in any kind of reason. Actually, I want to tell what their real name. But here I will tell you just their initial.

P. I don’t like her just because she ever accused me that I like and have intention to see the color of what she wear inside her pants. I don’t understand why she thought that I am that kind of man. But, that time I was sitting behind her and I said that I want to sit near her. What a stupid thought that he had. She thought that I want to see her back and space between her t-shirt and pants, so I can see the color of her underwear. Why did she have to think like that? She wore clothes that allow her underpant was seen by anyone who sit behind her. So, why did she have to blame me to see, if only I really see it?

I. I don’t like her because the stupid thing named Blind Date held in last Valentine. She humiliated me with some kind of stupid statement in the whiteboard in front of the class. She called me as a “Cowok Miskin 14” or “Poor Boy 14”. As a not rich boy, I don’t like to be called as “Poor Boy”. Even I really do a poor boy; I don’t like anybody disrespect me that way.

T. This is something fresh. I don’t like her just in this one or two day. She asked me to accompany her to the internet. But in the internet, she was angry with me. Do you know why? It was just because I made her real name in the Sign-Up form of Friendster and Yahoo! Mail. Then he looked me like she wants to swallow me. Yesterday, she asked me again to go with her to the internet. I did it not with full of my heart. In the way to the internet, I even ignored her. I already don’t like her. She treats me like I am her servant, which I don’t like very much.

There is still another girl in my class and also not in my class. But three of them in this writing are the freshest thing in my mind. I don’t like them, but it doesn’t mean that I hate them or hate the girls.

Bald

The last time I go to the barber shop was in November 2005. That time, I cut my hair to be as neat as possible. After that time, I never go to barber shop and cut my hair. I do that on purpose. I have never had my hair as long as my Father had in picture in his S1 certificate from the same school as I do know. That’s the reason why I want to try one.

I ever thought that I would let my hair as long as possible, so I can make my hair banded. I like a girl with hair banded, especially the hair banded that make a girl look sporty. When my hair length had been quite enough to make my hair banded, I band my hair. But it was not really quite enough to make my hair neat.

In the other hand, I got problems with my hair. I had a lot of dandruff. Even I used an anti-dandruff shampoo, it didn't quite work. I had the dandruff fall over my hair even after my hair was just washed.

When I went to my family's house, my Bapa Tongah (or can be also freely translated as uncle) said that my hair made me looks like a girl. A girl isn't determined by her hair, I said to myself. But, my coming to their house had made me decided to cut my hair. Actually, I had decide to cut my hair before go to their house. But I didn't find any good place and have reasonable price to cut my hair.

The next week, I got my hair cut. Not because what my Bapa Tongah words, but because I didn't want look not neat when one of the head of my church synod would come to my family's church. I cut my hair on Saturday, a day before I came to my family's house for the Monday's job that had been given to me by my cousin in their church.

In my last hair cut before that day, I also go to the same barber shop. I didn't satisfy with his way cut my hair. That's why I decided to shave my hair off. Two days after I got my hair cut, I went to Atrium Plaza with my friends. I went there to get my hair shaved off in Johny Andrean Training Center. That's why my head now was already bald.

Tired, ha?

I don't know what to write. This is my first time in this week writing or better saying typing a thing in my computer. This week has been an exhausted week.

It has been started from last week, I think. Last week, in Friday, I have to attend the "Gladi Resik" of the Graduation in our school. I, myself is one of the committee of the Graduation. So, I had to be in the "Gladi Resik". That's also because Timothy, the coordinator of the documentation, where I belong in the committee, not in Jakarta. He is in Yogyakarta now for the PKL thing.

In the last Friday, I have to be in campus since the morning (about 7.30 am) till the evening (about 7 pm). That was for the Intensive English Course and the Gladi Resik thing. The Gladi Resik was already finish about 5 pm and even earlier. But there was something stupid in the Buku Acara that have to be changed. There was something wrong in a line in the title of the name of the graduation for the Stratum 3. Somewhat the word "Theology" was written as "Theologi" for the "Doctor of Theology (SEAGST)" section. They said it was the "percetakan" mistake. It doesn't matter who was wrong, but it took about 10 person and a hour or more to change that stupid thing in about 500 Buku Acara.

After the tired morning till evening, me and Hans went to the Playstation 2 rental. We played Winning Eleven for an hour. What a stupid thing to do after tired for the whole day, right?

The tired day is not stopped till the PS2 thing. In the night, I also watched the World Cup 2006 thing. Germany vs Coctarica. I watched till the end of the game in about 1 o' clock in the morning. Then, we watched a movie in my computer. I felt a sleep in about 2 am.
Then, the tired thing not stopped in that day. The day after is the D day for the graduation. I wake up late in that Saturday morning. I should had been in campus before 6.30 am. Fortunately, I wake up not late than 7 am. I took bath, iron my white shirt, then go campus.

Actually, I was not late. But, for the rest of the graduation day, I was more exhausted then the day before. Coming without ate or even drank something, and also with less-rest, I felt that in the afternoon after the graduation thing had done, I better had a long-lasting sleep/rest or drink rather than ate something. That's why I prefer went home than went to the eating thing in the "Pak Liem punya acara makan-makan".

The day after, I was in GKPS Tegal Alur. They was held their church's birthday. I operated the handycam that connected directly to the television. That was made for the congregation that watched the whole "kebaktian" from the outside of the small church. It was an very tired thing to do. Coz I had to operate the tall-tripoded-handycam and I operated it in the stand stance.
Tired, ha?

Yesterday Reading Comprehension Class

Yesterday was our first course with Mr.Agustinus Setiawidi in our Intensive English Course that held by our school. The way he taught us was just like the way he ever taught us in the first and second semester. "Lihat saja teksnya!" ("Just look at the text!") he said when someone answer a question that he asked not based on the text in the handout he gave to us.

Mr.Agustinus is teaching us Reading Comprehension in the English Intensive Course. So, what we do with him in the course is just reading, reading, and reading, then comprehend the meaning of the text.

From yesterday course, I got a little information about journalism way of write the title of the writing. Mr.Agus asked us what the common of the 5 titles of the text in the handout is. And obviously it is the grammar. The title is always in present tense even if the news or the article is in past form. Just like one of the text in the handout, a news that likely was taken from The Jakarta Post. The title is "Two die in Pakistan cartoon protests". But in the first sentence of the news is "Two demonstrators died Tuesday as angry mobs stormed a diplomatic enclave..."

Actually yesterday I wanted to ask whether that term is just used in journalism or it is also used in other term of writing. But, he was already asked someone to read one of the text in the handout. The question remain as a question for me. Pity, ha?

My Second "Finally not DO"

Today was the "judisium" day. The day for the announcement of the second semester study result. From the way I saw my friend, I guess there was no one of my friend who showed their worry about the "judisium". I, myself, make a joke to my friend after our second course of our Intensive English Course today, "yang DO sombong."

About 1 pm, the lecturers who held a meeting for discuss the judisium in "Ruang Rapat" on the second floor came down to the first floor. They have finished their discussion. And the "judisium" was started.

Mr. Borrong, the head of my school, started the judisium with brief speech. I a little bit affraid when listen he talked about the decrease of our school study result for few past years. And then he gave the time to PUKET I to gave the announcement. Briefly, and the most important for me, I was not dropped out.

This is my second "Finally not DO." First time I said the same line, in writing, was when I was not dropped-out from my previous school, STT Telkom. That was in the end of my fourth semester there. I was not dropped-out that time because I pass the special examination (Ujian Khusus). The special examination was held during the Geladi (a kind of PKL).

Now, I say the same line again. I (maybe) was afraid too much that my grade is not good enough to pass the second semester I study here in STT Jakarta. I have been write my worry in my blog. I also have sent some short messages via SMS to friends about my worry. To my friends, I said that I was afraid that I will fail for the second time. I failed finished my study in my previous school. Even if I was not dropped-out from my previous school, it is a kind of failure. No one want to have the same failure, right?

My fear that I will DO was just because I did not submit my Bahasa Indonesia mini-skripsi. Please don’t ask why. But, even if I have know that I was not dropped-out, I still do not know all of my grade, especially my Bahasa Indonesia’s grade. Will I get an E for that subject? What about my Filsafat Timur, Hindu-Buddha, or General Psychology and Personality? The answer is still on August when the Kartu Hasil Studi (KHS) will be given.
